and I'll BE There, BE There, BE There -
This last week has been such hell. 117 degree heat, the threat of the big Park Fire being within 3 miles of my house, the smoky air burning our eyes -
And not having a car! When I gave up driving 5 years ago I never dreamed I'd regret it! What with friends being out of town or not reachable, I have felt so vulnerable.
If I'd had to evacuate, I'd have to walk! Can't you just see this wobbly 78-year old woman stumbling out of town leaning on her walker, back-pack on, slippers on her feet? That would be me!
I think it's time to get a car again - even if it's just an old clunker and not pretty but it runs. Ask me if I care about stylish!
So I was thinking about friends and love and kindness tonight, and this image came to mind, as James Taylor’s song runs through my head again and again. I’ll be there for you, “. . . winter, spring, summer or fall, I’ll be there, be there, be there, you’ve got a friend . . . “
Making art in spite of the craziness is helping ground me. Not sure what I’d do if I didn’t have art to lean on.
I thank all the wonderful friends who've made such nice comments, done healing sessions for my craziness-feelings, offered ideas for soothing my eyes - and heart -
I love you all! I'm so grateful to have you in my life!
