Today a friend asked me to do a silly portrait of her cat. This was what came out. And I wonder . . .
When I was a kid, there used to be a Sunday comic named Katzenjammer. Today when a friend asked me to do a silly portrait of her cat, out of the blue that comic strip came to mind.
Not that this looks anything at all like the cats in those comics! But it made me wonder - where do thoughts like that come from?
Do they just float around in the aethers, waiting for some schlub to walk into them and give them a voice? Or a face, as the case might be? I haven’t a clue.
But my friend loved her silly kitty - which is the most important thing of all, after all. It would be so much fun if she wanted to get pillows made with this design!
Here it is in a 4-repeat, in just white on black.
I love the simplicity of the design, and the sharp contrast of black and white!
