Playing in the Forest
I had a dream this morning where all these funny looking folks were out playing in the trees.
They were climbing and swinging and diving and flying and just being loud and laughy and silly, being naughty and having way too much fun.
Why can't we do that, too - and way more often? We take life so seriously! We focus on making a living, instead of Living our Making.
Of course, if we did that, then people would have to know what their soul's deepest calling was, so they could be aligned with their Making. I think most people don't know.
My brother asked me why I didn't go after a career in writing. I said that's even more difficult than being an artist!
Besides, I'd miss all my silly folks. They'd come crawling out of my words onto the paper and somehow make themselves seen. Dancing and playing music and taking walks and sitting on mountaintops looking at the full moon. Words wouldn't be able to contain them!
And yes, of course we have to take some things very seriously. But I think we can do it more playfully, and be more compassionate to the people around us.
What do you think?
